Downloading Patches, HotFixes, or documentation from mcafee website

It should be simple, unfortunately it is not. Up to that point McAfee made a KB. See here for KB54808: https://mysupport.mcafee.com/Eservice/article.aspx?page=content&id=KB54808. This may be a big time saver to find that patch you are looking for …

Summary

As part of a continuing customer improvements program, McAfee is consolidating its download locations and streamlining the download process.

We have created a products download page (my products) at: https://secure.nai.com/apps/downloads/my_products/login.asp, and from this page, you can do the following:

  • Use your Grant Number to access full product downloads and patches.
  • Access patches currently available from the ServicePortal only.
  • Access downloads for Secure Computing products.
  • Get help from Customer Service.

Solution

To download a product from the My Products page (https://secure.nai.com/apps/downloads/my_products/login.asp):
  1. Type your Grant Number and click Submit.
    If you need help with your Grant Number, contact Customer Service.
     
  2. Look for the product you want to install or update and click View Available Downloads.
    You might have to click further pages until you get to your download.
     
  3. When you see the License Agreement, click I Agree.
    You then see the downloads page, displaying one or more of the following tabs:
  • Software Downloads
  • Documentation
  • Patches
  1. Click the relevant tab.
  2. Locate your product in the list and click the link in the downloads column.
    If the list is long, you can filter the results by first selecting your Language and Platform, and clicking Go.
     
  3. Follow any on-screen prompts to save the download to a suitable location.

To download a patch not included in the My Products – Downloads link:

  1. Click the ServicePortal link (https://mysupport.mcafee.com/Eservice/Default.aspx).
  2. Log into the ServicePortal:
  • If you are not yet a registered user, click New User.
  • If you are a registered user and have forgotten your password, click Forgot Your Password?
  1. Click Download Software Updates
    You then see the Product Downloads and Product Patches page.
     
  2. Locate the patch that you want to download.
    By default, the table displays the list sorted by Product Name. To sort the list by Modified date, so that the most current items appear at the top of the list, click the column heading.
     
  3. Click the link for the patch you want to download:
  • If you do not want to save the ZIP file to your desktop (or another suitable location) click Open.
  • If you want to save the ZIP file to your desktop (or another suitable location) click Save.
  1. Double-click the document to open it and follow the instructions to apply the patch.
     
To download a McAfee product that was acquired through the Secure Computing acquisition:
  1. Click the link under the McAfee Secure Computing Products heading.
  2. Locate the product and version you want, and click Download.
  3. Type the serial number for the product you own, and click Submit.
  4. Follow any on-screen prompts to save the download to a suitable location.
