Installing Linux applications from terminal

Quick and easy: here are some Linux (*) commands to install applications from the terminal prompt

(*) Linux Debian (and other Debian based distros like Ubuntu, and Ubuntu based distros)

Clementine (excellent music / internet radio player):
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install clementine

Double Commander:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexx2000/doublecmd && sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install doublecmd-qt

Dropbox:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install nautilus-dropbox

Grub Customizer (GUI which makes it easy to customize the Grub boot menu):
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:danielrichter2007/grub-customizer
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install grub-customizer

Midori web browser:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:midori/ppa && sudo apt-get update -qq && sudo apt-get install midori

Ubuntu Software Center:
sudo apt-get install software-center

Truecrypt:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stefansundin/truecrypt && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install truecrypt

Unetbootin:
sudo apt-get install unetbootin

VLC:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install vlc browser-plugin-vlc
