Uninstalling Norton products is not always as simple as it should be. More than once I wanted to uninstall a Norton Internet Security preinstalled suite and ran into problems.
The last time I tried to uninstall a Norton Internet Security on Windows Vista. After seemingly succesfully having uninstalled all Norton modules some Norton modules still showed up in Windows Security Center.
I downloaded the Norton Removal Tool, ran it, rebooted Vista: still traces of Norton in Security Center. Finally after running the Norton Removal Tool a second time Windows Security Center did not found Norton products anymore. Talking about dirty uninstall programs :o(
- Apparently this Removal Tool is suited for several Norton products:
- The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer. If you use ACT! or WinFAX, back up those databases before you proceed.
- Of course this tool does not replace the standard uninstall program …
