Error 1056: Virtual Driver name not found in MODULE.INI

Error 1056: Virtual Driver name not found in MODULE.INI when starting a Citrix application.

This was caused by uninstalling the ThinPrint client 7.0.

Reinstall the Citrix ICA Client.

  1. Hi,

Did you try to uninstall client and reinstall client. But before that please remove icaclient folder from client’s profile.

    1. I don’t have the opportunity to test this anymore (I no longer have a running ThinPrint environment), but thanks for the suggestion.

  2. Fyi,

I had the same problem. It started like this: I was opening a new Citrix client for the first time while I had another remote connection to another citrix server open. So, I downloaded a citrixreceiver.exe and ran it. After that both conections failed and I started getting the error message mentioned trying to re-open the first conection (that used to work fine). (The second connection I have not tried since.)

Removing the client from control panel, emptying the browser history, rebooting and re-installing the citrix client did not help. Removing the ICA client folder did not help. Replacing the ICA-client folder with another users folder did not help.

I was able to restore the first connection by re-running the receiver.exe. I think something went wrong running it the first time.

  3. Hi,
I had the same problem, with thinprint client 8.6 installed. I’ve updated to thinprint 9.0, then the problem disappeared.
